I really liked this book! I was not expecting this to have elements of a ghost story, but I think it was so well done! I wish more justice had been served, but that wouldn’t have been realistic AND the ending ended on a nice positive note anyway! I loved the character Raquel and how the author showed her trying to find her way of fitting in at college, and in friendships and romance. Something about Xochitl Gonzalez’s writing is always so relatable for me!

very weird to so obviously base anita's character off ana mendieta without meaningfully acknowledging her legacy or consulting her family! especially uncomfortable considering the framing of anita's work as "forgotten", a narrative that the mendieta family has publicly rejected

Was at least 100 pages too long. Heavy handed in parts and repetitive. Pacing and plot was best in the last third.
