The first half was really good. The second half dragged tbh.

3.25⭐️ Lots of plot, lots of smut, not nearly as blood adventurous as the trigger warnings led me to believe. Although, I’m SCREAMING from the trigger warnings page 🤣 “Have you ever been SWALLOWED UP?” Is insane. After that the dialogue is a little cringe (sex scenes) but eventually makes a recovery. Jackie is my FAVORITE side character.
Finding out about the two side characters and the cat, I was like “That tracks” but Whitney’s identity was plain ridiculous lmao. I loved that other witch LaCosa, she is an interesting character. Overall, this book is funny as hell. It has some snippets of stuff that will have you like “hmmm…same” but then right back to the foolery. I’m gonna read book one because while this can be read as a standalone, it would make this book make more sense if I knew the previous characters better. Overall, no regrets. Just a silly goody bloody good time.

loved the banter and playfulness. Like the first book, I especially love the chapter names. The author has a great sense of humor that comes through nicely in her books.

How I Rate Books
I rate based on resonance, re-readability, and whether the book randomly resurfaces in my thoughts.
⭐ 1 – Nothing stayed or DNF. Wouldn’t recommend.
⭐⭐ 2 – A flicker, but no fire. Finished out of curiosity or willpower.
⭐⭐⭐ 3 – Just good. Enjoyed it.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4 – It clung in soft ways. Worth a revisit.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 – Lives in me now

This was a fun read and I enjoyed the narration. If you liked the first book in this series you'll most likely like this one too. Action, romance, humor, what's not to like? Looking forward to whenever Jessica Cage puts out the next one.
