Although I enjoyed the courtroom drama and Mineral City elements, every time the author used "mage heat" - and the phrase was used quite a bit - I kept thinking of our overweight beagle bleeding on the kitchen floor. And the number and graphic nature of the sex scenes really ramped up.

3.5 stars. Actually liked this less on the second read, but that may be because this time I read it immediately after book 1 and it's just not as tight in comparison.

Oh, man, this book was absolutely fantastic! So much happened, and it was just really incredible, and I can't wait to read the 3rd book!
