Found this was a bit of a slow start but once it picked up, it was entertaining and engaging.
The first person POV from the FMC, Dashti, was different as the book is set up as her journal entries to tell the story.
Written for a younger audience, the writing style fits as it's not over the top or overly complicated. It doesn't need to be for it's a sweet story that has an overall sense of resilience and hope.

One of the first books that got me into reading and I love soo much about it, i especially enjoyed how interesting the use of a journal as a writing form throughout the book makes it more personal to the mc!! :)
