Wow okay Tracy Flick is me and I am Tracy Flick, such a bonus to discover there’s not only a prequel, but also two movies based on her story. I really can’t explain how much I adore this character and the GMHS universe

I enjoyed this book and what I thought it was building to. However, as soon as I realized what the book was foreshadowing I started to dread the ending, and like another reviewer said, I didn't like the last 10%.
I wish the book was building to some moment in which Tracy Flick was in charge of her own path and that her choices were what resulted in her well-deserved Principalship. However, by having the shooting happen and it wrapping up the book within mere pages, I felt like it was a letdown and a narratively easy but unsatisfying way to get her to the Principal position. I was more looking forward to her using her own strengths to get what she wanted instead of it being a byproduct of a tragedy.
