The saddest fictional book i have ever read ! it had me sobbing , but also well written you feel like you truly know these characters and dont realize when it happened but youre sucked in their very realistic world and hoping for the best for them..

I listened to Fantasie in C Major after it was mentioned in the book and I will never be able to listen to that song again without my nose stinging. I’m grieving people who only exist in pages in a way I never have.

did i read this two years ago? yes. did i also spend a good half hour at work this week thinking about how annoyed i was by parts of this book? yes. was i potentially biased by the fact that there was no room in the stacks in w-z and i could not shelve it for my life? yes indeed. anyway, i’m downgrading my rating.

if you want a thick book filled with trauma, just read clarissa. samuel richardson did it first (and better).
