A very complicated British murder mystery, featuring a Holmes-like investigator. Very entertaining, particularly when I imagined everyone speaking with British accents, which of course they would have... I had no idea what was going on most of the time, but I did eventually figure out "whodunit" before it was revealed.

I think only those with a thorough knowledge of bell-ringing, church architecture, and flood management will truly appreciate this book, which is packed with lengthy technical descriptions of these topics that I found hard to follow despite much Googling. I also prefer mysteries with tighter timelines, and this one spanned a full year before the mystery was ultimately solved. Still willing to read another Sayers, but will adjust my expectations.
