We finally get some insight into the corruption of the Renegades in this book, which was my main complaint in the first book. The characters stayed stuck in their ways however.
With Adrian continuously acting as the sentinel and Nova’s practically unwavering support of the Anarchists.

I really enjoyed the fact that we got more information about the minor characters like Honey and Ruby in this book. It makes for a great sequel and I can’t wait to read Supernova.

I’m not gonna lie, this book got me in a reading slump for a while but goddamn that ending was stressful. So much action was packed into the last few chapters. I was on the edge of my seat the ENTIRE time. The miscommunication can get a bit frustrating but that is literally what I signed up for by picking up this book. I’m too invested in the characters so I’ll definitely continue reading this series.

This is a solid second book to read. Whilst a lot feels like it didn't happen it does spend a bit of time building up with the last 100 pages popping off in a way that the third book can pick up from.

There were some things about the book that I hope will be better explained in the third book,
in particular why Monarch was suspicious of Nova in the first place. Was it just falling asleep in the hospital from the first book. It just seems very weak. Monarch is probably one of the few character that I actually don't like in this series so far.

With the ending of this book I cannot wait to see what happens and how everything will unfold. I don't really have an idea of where this could go, but do have some hopes.

I found this book very entertaining, I enjoyed this book much more than its prequel. I felt like the characters were much more fleshed out, in the first book I felt like there were too many storylines for each character and it got confusing to follow. This second book, mainly focused on Nova and Adrian which made it much easier to follow; then the other renegades were seen as supporting characters instead of trying to fight for the main character. The plot and idea of this book were also far more fascinating than the first one
in the first book we see how Nova infiltrates the Renegades which is entertaining, but in this second book, we have to see how she balances both of her lives, which is far more entertaining.
. I love how we were introduced to new characters such as the hawthorn and frostbites team but we still learned new information about older characters. Finally, the ending to this book is amazing and I can't wait to dive into the third book and see what Nova does; does she reveal who she is, does she keep living this lie her whole life?

God this book made my anxiety levels go through the roof. I was so invested in the book that in the last ten chapters I could feel
nova’s anticipation and stress
. I can’t believe the book after this came out four years later, i can’t wait that long and have placed the next book on hold at the library immediately. Of course the book was really good, matching the first one, and I read it in a single day. I gave it less stars than the first one because the shock of the creativity and beautiful story work had worn off a bit. But it was fantastic, same as before. The
romance got even better, it was very well told and I was so so invested in it
. Wow!! Also this is the first book i’ve read this year that wasn’t part of the dymocks challenge, but i had to read it after reading the first one. Read on 24th Jan.

omg--i never thought i would rate a sci-fi book 5 stars,, but here we are!! WOW this book was so so so SOOOOO GOOD OH MY GOD!!! one of the most interesting stories i've ever read, especially because the main character nova is so complicated and so... morally gray. the main character is usually supposed to be "a good guy" you know what i mean? but nova is definitely... not that lmao. i find myself feeling so bad for adrian ahh i love him so much and he's gonna be so hurt when he finds out that nova is nightmare FNEWUKGFE I HAVE NO IDEA HOW IT'S GONNA PLAY OUT BUT I CAN'T WAIT TO START THE NEXT BOOK!! i just bought it today so yay

The second book grew on me a lot, although I still could predict a lot of things. I love the diversity and uniqueness of the characters that adds a nice touch to this story. I really liked seeing thoughts and feelings of the opposing characters and how they might be more alike than they thought. The plot is filled to the brim and very intriguing so much that you can’t put the book down.  I tend to always like second books in trilogies, and this did not disappoint my expectations. The story has so many cute and interesting details that I always was interested in the situation. Although, the book is more on the heavier side of writing, it is a very worthy for reading. I am looking forward to the big reveal in the next book. <3
