YOWZERS!!! Cantwell is becoming one of my favorite authors. Everything is a blend of the Twilight Zone and Ice Cream Man. Culbard's art truly adds to the intensity of the story.

The concept was one of the first things that drew me to this graphic novel then I find out it has a nice mix of characters, different setting, beautiful landscapes/scenes. The pacing was just a little bit too fast, but excited to read the second volume. Surprised this isn't going to be a tv show or movie.

I found this confusing at times but it was overall weird in a good way.

Find out if there is some type of subliminal big box store marketing messaging at work in Everything or if it is something more sinister. Part of the fun for me was the wordless sections and the primary colour 'store' ads at the start of each chapter, adding to the 1980's feel of the graphic novel. I liked how Shirley's character was developed. I'll give the second volume a try when it comes out. I really want to see how Lori our quasi-hero overcomes whatever hurdles they throw at her.

The horror of American consumerism is brought to life with this surreal tale of a mall coming to small town America. An intriguing mix of Stephen King, Twin Peaks and the second season of Stranger Things, I hope this picks up again at it seems like it only just got started.
