History's number one love story... In fair Verona, where we lay our scene is where we discover two lovers whose families are divided by a long-standing rivalry. This division dictates that these two should never even meet let alone fall in love. I do not recommend it for anyone under 18 because it is very difficult for most to catch on to the subtle humor employed by The Bard. I doubt if it will ever be possible to capture this effectively on film although it has been attempted eight times.

I haven't read much of the supporting academic work in this edition, but I read the play itself. It was absolutely wonderful and what more could I possibly add to what has already been said about the play? It made me cry. It made me laugh. I have all the feels.
The footnotes were extremely helpful and I read the play over a few hours. It was a wonderful experience and I cannot wait to dive into more of Shakespeare's work.

I am glad I picked this book. I finally know the story of romeo and Juliet in detail.

Gran obra, se entiende que de ésta derive el estereotipo de los amantes desventurados. Un sólido 5/5.
Simplemente con ese comienzo, con la disputa entre ambas familias, cautiva la obra; sirve, además, como trasfondo perfecto a esta tragedia amorosa, dotándola de esa atmósfera de enemistades que tan bien le sienta. Resulta fácil entender a los personajes y de dónde derivan sus acciones. Y la variedad de registros según la clase social está genial.
Es inútil juzgar esa relación desde el prisma actual.
En conclusión, bonita y muy trágica historia de amor. Me ha gustado mucho en cuanto a que está muy bien compuesta.
