Kind of dramatic, but a lot of things are handled well: her internal conflict on who she’s “supposed” to be, the way that she behaves like a very realistic kid, the way that her being hard of hearing poses real challenges for her if she doesn’t have accommodations yet they aren’t the only thing she faces. Pretty nice book. Joss is really dedicated and really stubborn, like a lot of kids out there.
