i found it to be an enjoyable read though very predictable. you feel like you should be rooting for someone, but i more so was just curious to see if there would be some sort of crazy twist or if it really was as predictable as i suspected. no crazy twist, unfortunately. i tend to like locked-room mysteries as agatha christie has my heart with hers, so i think that's the main reason why i found this to be an enjoyable read for me, even though the characters were boring and i knew what the deal was immediately. the romance was strange as i had a hard time believing they were willing to get married having not had any previous conversations about kids (and they seemed to want different things) or their backgrounds at all, it seems. it made me wonder what they even really knew about each other at all to love each other enough to get married. the main girlie was giving me gold digger vibes, though the entire time she said she didn't love him for his money. thou dost protest too much? i do wish there had been more twists and turns but i found the book enjoyable regardless. sometimes a book can be mediocre and you can still like it.

Compulsively readable, but let down by its strange changes in point of view and an increasingly nonsensical conclusion, Her Dark Lies is a largely enjoyable thriller.
