3.5 - overall enjoyable. Wanted more chemistry between Grace and Yuri
I tried to resume it, thinking I remembered the last thing that happened. I don't, so I need to restart it, and I'm just not in the mood to do that.
I don't remember why I dropped it last year, either.
Maybe I'll try again next year.

I went into this thinking it would be a queer romance, and there was some of that; but really, it was more about mental illness, found family, and adapting to changes in a life plan. Which... I guess is why there's only Grace on the cover- because it is more about her finding her way than finding a romance. My favorite parts of this book involved Grace's relationships with her friends. Both the groups in Portland and in New York, they were refreshing and it's so nice to see how groups can hold each other up. Kudos for the reference to Nancy Drew, George and Bess.
I just wish that the romance aspect, ie what I thought was the central action of the book, engaged me more. I couldn't really see what either of the women saw in each other or what kept them together. Also, the single brief sex scene felt... abrupt, I guess. And then it was over, which was... disappointing. But I have high hopes for this author- if she writes another one, I will give it a shot.

Yikes! The hype surrounding this book was real. Once I saw the cover and read the blurb I was all in! Until I actually read the book. Something told me to stop but I went ahead tortured myself to the very end.
