this one is for all the overworked phd student girlies!
This book is amazing and is for all the 20something year olds that feel lost in life and don’t really know what path to take. I enjoyed the diversity in the characters as well, and that I not only resonated with Grace’s story, but being a being a black queer person as well(and the struggles that come with that).

Easily one of the most beautifully written and impossibly romantic books I've read in quite some time (maybe ever)! Absolutely gorgeous.

Graphic: Self harm
I am…so sorry…but this was not good. The writing was just so bad y’all. Repetitive as hell, metaphors beat to a pulp, and an entire cast of messy characters that we only knew at surface level. Without further context, these relationships felt toxic and codependent. Everytime the characters spoke I thought “no one talks like this!!” The marriage plot was a mess & a half. Honestly, the whole thing felt like it was written by an AI bot fed exclusively Gen z internet discourse. A little bummed this was my first pick for the queer bookclub at work. 😬
