Writing this as tears stream down my face help!!!!! I really didn't think I would like this book. When I first started reading, I found it hard to concentrate and was worried I'd be bored. Boy, was I wrong. Celeste Ng's writing is sooooo beautiful. The way she wrote these characters and their internal conflicts was so raw and real. Lydia's character resonated with me so fucking much. It's insane the similarities I saw in myself and my relationship with my parents, which is why I think I loved this book so much. The last few lines of this book HURT and I'll be thinking about this for a while.

I will never read something of this sort again.
I was choking after the 30% mark.
I skimmed through the past the last 70%.
It was too much for a 250 page book. Cheating. Grieving. Immigration. Complicated family relations.
The stars were docked because of how unpleasant i felt reading…
