I enjoyed following up with Lo ten years later. I loved hearing about the ten years in between books and enjoyed the new mystery. There was too much language for my taste--surely there is more than one word that characters can use when frustrated, scared, and angry

Its beeen 10 years from when Lo Blacklock was on the Aurora and the mystery of 'The Woman in Cabin 10'. Now Lo is married to Judah with two children living in America. Wanting to get back into travel writing she gets an out of the blue invite to a hotel in Switzerland for a press opening. However some of the passengers from the Aurora are there also.
I read The Woman in Cabin 10 when it came out and enjoyed it. This was back in the day when I used to look forward to books by Ruth Ware. After the first few books I did fall out of love with Ruth Ware but did want to give this book ago.
I really did not enjoy this book at all. The plot was ok to a certain point but in another sense quite ridiculous. The character of Lo just does not learn. She goes from one situation to another in a tedious murder mystery.
Sometimes a good book does not need a follow up and for me this is the case with this one. I used to enjoy books by Ruth Ware but I think for now I'm done.

I really wanted to love this, but I found the protagonist frustratingly naive. She just went through this traumatic experience ten years ago where she seemed to learn a lot. I feel like she forgot everything she learned in the ten years between these plots. She kept believing things that seemed very questionable and refused to talk to people who might help her see reality. I don’t mind an imperfect, even gullible protagonist, but I wish we’d gotten to spend more time with more interesting characters or get more character development.
