If you do a lot of reading in the pop finance space, this book won't likely teach you anything new. I think fans of the podcast and younger Millennials / the Gen Z crowd will find the author's delivery appealing, but I still think Jean Chatzky's 'Women & Money' sets the standard in this subgenre. Overall, though, it makes the topic approachable and is easy to read.

I really like Katie’s approach to money, and how she doesn’t shy away from the societal issues that impact our relationship to money, especially for young women.

Although I think that the target audience for this book is 20 to 40 somethings in the US trying to maximize their savings, this is not a basic finance 101 book. It gives real, concrete, research backed insights and encourages the reader to open up their spreadsheets and start calculating. She explains complex topics step-by-step without  babying her audience.
