Delicious. Salacious. Gossip girl s1 but romance.

I love a good outsider becomes king story and RJ is a great character to read about. I really love that the deliquent prep school environment allows RJ to find a fast group of friends without losing any of the tropes of an enemy that makes this kind of plot such a winner for me.

Honestly, I didn’t want to DNF this so quickly, but considering how many times I have rolled my eyes at this already, I don’t know if I can handle even a second more of this book. Based on the synopsis this sounded right up my alley, messy rich kid drama. Except this just went WAY beyond that and decided that misogyny makes character cool and edgy. It’s not. It’s absolutely disgusting. Especially when every single character is that way. I just couldn’t anymore. Add on to that characters who think they are the shit, but are absolutely pathetic, I don’t know why I was still reading. I also read some spoiler-y reviews and I’m glad to miss out on the extremely biphobic antics this book seemingly gets up to in the part that I have not read. I don’t think I’m missong out on anything with this one.

This was an interesting read.
While I did enjoy the underlying plot of the book, I was shocked and a bit disappointed in the ending as I didn’t see it coming nor that character being the cause which felt a bit betraying.

Overall the way in which this book was romance was just too overly sexual for me and I wasn’t a fan of the openly detailed scenes, as they felt a bit too much and wattpad-esque.

I guess it’s a good rec for those who like dark romance but it’s not for me at all.

I liked this book, but not as much as I expected to. I’m a dialogue junkie, so the snarky banter made me giddy, and I love a good friend group/chosen family, but I feel like maybe there were too many POVs. Dual POV is my catnip, because I love getting both sides of the story, and I don’t mind multiple POVs if it’s done right, but I felt like the extra perspectives in this book took away from the main couple’s story and slowed it down for me. I will be continuing the series though, because I really liked all of the characters and their complexities and I want to see how the mystery around Casey’s accident unfolds.

Therapy! All these characters need some good therapy!

It was a fun, dramatic time.

If Elle Kennedy writes it, I’m gonna read it.

Misfit had a different vibe than any of Elle’s previous books I’ve read. It was dark and mysterious and takes place at a Prep school in New Hampshire.

It is told from a few different POV, giving different storylines throughout. Misfit doesn’t just focus on one romance.

I would have loved more focus on RJ and Sloane. There are a lot of extra characters with their own stories that make this book longer than it needed to be.

The end was very surprising though, so I’m off to listen to Rogue to see how this unfolds…

I started out not really being able to get into the book. However, as the book progresses, it’s really easy to feel connected with these characters (Not Silas though, he kind of weirds me out lol). I’m also not a very expressive person with books, but as I reached the last five or so chapters, I couldn’t help but start laughing at some points. I even felt a bit relived and proud towards some of the characters and their character development
