I was in a reading slump all year so it took me so long to finish! But what a wonderful work of fiction, it was based on true events so even though it’s not 100% historically accurate it was super interesting to learn about China & Shanghai

A great, heart wrecking ending for this story. I really liked how the plots unfurled and came to an end. I don't know if I will be reading the spin offs, but These Violent Delights and Our Violent Ends have been quite an experience.
