The book is Kara trying to gather sand that's constantly slipping through her fingers. The chaos was... wow.

Kara, an editor, was handed this badly written manuscript about a Vampire lead and a Warlock Wizard villain. When she's in the elevator, it suddenly malfunctioned and she was sucked into the manuscript's world. There, she messed up Slade (the vamp) and Melessa (his human mate)'s meeting. This caused Slade and Damien to think that Kara was his mate, and therefore Slade. Kara messed up the dialog and it was clear that Damien (the villain) was the only intelligent character in the book because he's able to improvise his lines.

She went with Damien and made it her mission to get the timeline back together to what it should be. Kara knew that the hero always win, so she needed to keep Slade alive. But Damien wanted vengeance for his sister's death by killing Slade's mate. At the same time, Kara knew that the villain will always die, but she slowly realized she didn't want Damien to die. While Damien realized that Kara was actually his mate.

In the end, Kara altered the manuscript. Damien and Kara landed back in the elevator and they sought out the author. The author was Damien's sister and the manuscript was a ploy to cross Damien over to their world. I still don't get why the sister needed to write Damien's death though.

There were rough rough technicalities in the plot. The believability and logistics of it. It got convoluted at the 50-80% ish mark but it picked up again at 90%. It did read like the author was grasping at strings trying to connect the plot toward the end. But honestly, it's a fun book. It's too messy for its own good but it gave me a good laugh.

laugh out loud funny in a The Princess Bride kinda way, but maintaining the underlying storyline nicely. I read it digital and already ordered the paperback 😊. Only neg was the editing, which seemed to come and go - mildly annoying, but could read past it (might just be my digital copy?). Most enjoyable read this year to date! ❤️

This is a book that knows what it is about and doesn't take itself too seriously. I had a lot of fun reading it.

Everything about this book was incredibly well done. It is a fantastic parody of romances while also being a very compelling, heartfelt, spicy romance. I laughed so many times and enjoyed myself so much reading this that 5 stars really is the only appropriate rating. I will absolutely read this again, and buy it so it can live on my bookshelf.

This was a perfect read to get me out of a slump. It’s cute, it’s self aware, and entertaining. Will definitely read more of her books

I thought the book was hilarious. Really great premise and I absolutely loved all the references. Don't take the book seriously at all and you'll enjoy it.
