Very good for animal lovers. I like the connections between how wolves behave in a natural way and how humans can take lessons from them.

Radinger provides an intimate look into the behaviour of predominantly Yellowstone wolves, but also those from her home country of Germany, and draws parallels with our own ancestors' connection with wolves, and how we, in this modern fast paced tech-obsessed age, must break the misguided and often destructive societal perceptions of wolves, and actually see them not only as nature's children, living their natural lives in a wild landscape but also that we have a lot to learn about ourselves from these emotionally intelligent creatures. A great book.

Really enjoyed this book. I love wolves, and this book had lots of fascinating stories and facts that taught me a lot about them. The author is clearly very knowledgeable, and I liked how she carefully dispelled so many of the common stereotypes and misconceptions about wolves and wolf society. It is also a well-written call to action to respect nature and suggests what we can do to preserve it.

But I think what I loved most about this book was how perfectly the author captured and put into words the many reasons I've come to love wolves. I loved all of the wolf photos interspersed in the pages, as well. Overall, I feel the book captures the intelligence and beauty of wolves very well, and points out their, at times, many surprising similarities to humans.

Highly recommend, especially to wolf lovers. I will definitely be picking this up again in the future for another read-through or two.

Such a good book! So glad I've finally finished it!
I was originally going to read it for my "thesis" for my last year of highschool. But I didn't find the time to open it and read it. And now, two years later I said to myself I have to finish reading the books that I was going to read. And look now! Two more left to go.
This book obviously brought me back to that time when I was working on that schoolproject and how I now wished to have read it during that time. But better late than never. The writing style is really nice to read and the way Elli describes the wolf facts or her experiences let you feel like you are there, with her, in Yellowstone. I really did enjoy it from page 1 to page 282. And I would love to visit Yellowstone one day :)
