This book made me think a lot about why apologies matter, and the weight we should all give to not only offering an apology, but also accepting one. I'm quick to forgive, but this book make me realize raising my standards a bit more would actually lead to better apologies and stronger reconciliation. It led to some great personal reflection, but I got a bit tired of some of the examples -- it often felt like a lot of detail about random side stories for a relatively small pay off. Well written, but could have been much shorter.

It’s taking too long to get to the actual point of the book, the “meat” of it, and it feels less like an informative book on apologies and more like a memoir that they didn’t want to label as a memoir for some reason.
