extremely bad writing. i felt i was forcing myself to continue reading at one point. lana is so annoying, the writing is terrible and so much repetition and the book was like “i’m a murderer, not a skinny 5’ girl who loves red. not a girl in love but a killer look out grrrrr”

I cannot fit the life of me understand why everyone is raving about this book. It’s giving early-2000s emo teenager. The revenge killer falling in love with an FBI agent? Cmon.

The book was way more graphic than it needed to be, but also wrong when it came to details. The author says Lana castrated the men she killed, but she didn’t.. castration is the removal of testicles but she removed the penis.

The unhealthy relationship between Lana and Logan is also incredibly off putting. Their jealousy and her talk of wanting to kill Lisa is way over the top and hardly romantic. If that’s the way the characters felt, they’re not in love, they’re in codependency.

The “twist” at the end wasn’t worth sticking around for either. I wish I wasn’t so stubborn, maybe I could’ve walked away from this series and not wasted so much time. If you’re considering reading the book, just don’t. Not unless you truly enjoy reading books by underdeveloped authors.

“I'm Victoria Evans. The daughter of the man you killed. The sister of the boy you let die. The victim you turned into a monster. And I'm going to fucking kill you all.”

Tell me there's someone who's more epic and scary than this female MC, Lana Myers. I dare you, tell me. Because so far, she's the most bad-ass of all FMC I've read so far and I think it would be very hard to top her off.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting much when I first started reading the book. I was like 'oh, a female serial killer who falls in love with an FBI agent??? It sounds amazing'. Little did I know that I'll be brazing thru the whole 5 mini-stories in a few days while I'm in Japan. I just wanted to read something on my phone while we were killing time in the car during the tours. I didn't expect that I'll be up late into the night, still reading this book. It was very addicting to read and I'll keep on recommending this book to people who are open to reading dark romance, which - to be honest, has smut that aren't even over the top. The smut/spice was just the right amount compared to other books which are heavy on sex scenes. It's legit focused on Lana, her revenge, and her falling in love. Literally revolves around just those three topics. Once you start it, it's somehow hard to stop because there's usually something monumental happening. Every ending of every story was also amazing because it really makes you want to read more than you wanted (hence, the reason why I stay up late).

I love Lana and I love Logan. A dual-POV isn't usually needed in books but this book definitely needed a dual POV. You get the eyes of both the killer and the cop. You get the feeling of both the killer and the cop, as well. You watch them fall in love while wishing she don't get caught. And the hardest thing is, after a while, you can't fault Lana into doing what she was doing.

This book really makes one question reality and the world we live in.

"It’s sad that I want to hide my bodies now so that my boyfriend gets a break and can spend more time with me. How twisted can one person possibly get?" She's just so kind and considerate.

Dark! But it was interesting. I was rooting for my girl Lana the whole time, like defeat those gross men my love <3 I love seeing women have hobbies~

The queer and disability rep in this was very questionable at points tho
the bit in the epilogue when its like  "Jake and Hadley are both bisexual, and though they’d never cheat on each other, they do include select individuals in their bedroom on occasion." All for poly, power to ya, but whats with the cheat comment? Is that really necessary? lmao

I do think the series needed a bit more nuance, it makes it's perspective on Lana's vigilante hobbies very clear through multiple characters having the same view.

Weird covers and I wish sometimes the books could commit to doing one genre well instead of bouncing around from genre to genre. Overall the story was really gripping, and it kept me reading despite some of the typos and weird phrasing embedded throughout the books.

This was such a fantastic read! There are a lot of triggers in this book so please before reading make sure that you check them. The amount of courage that Lana had in this story is beyond amazing! This was my first time reading a "Dark Romance" and I am officially hooked and want to read more like this. I love highly messed-up stories with a hint of spice and this was so perfect! I am not one for happy endings but everything she went through to get to this point makes me glad that even though he was FBI he opened his eyes to see how messed up the system was and saw her for her! 10/10!!!
