Ich siła by Meg Wolitzer

It’s a page turner and it is really entertaining... mostly. Wolitzer tried to put every single important issue and discourse in this book, which lead to its main problem: if you just graze everything, nothing is talked about in its depth or complexity. Maybe you get hungry for more information about feminism, bad business, flaws in education systems and so on. Or maybe you won’t. Than this book is hardly a source of knowledge about these topics.
Furthermore: the main character Greer is a 20year old wannabe - and for readers beyond this stage of life, her thoughts can be exhausting.
I liked The male character Cory though - he is a man beyond toxic masculinity which I always find charming ;)
It’s a good book - and it’s not. I liked to read it, and sometimes I didn’t engage. I’ll guess: contradictions belong to reading and life sometimes

After reading some reviews, I get why people didn’t love this book. It wasn’t super fast moving and did have quite a few stereotypical descriptions of privileged, white lady feminism. However I thought the characterization of college aged and post-college aged people was really well done and describes that moment in life very well. I WILL say I did not love the end (spoiler but an extremely anti climactic spoiler - she ends up with her high school boyfriend and a baby

I tried really hard to get into this book but I just wasn't connecting to it. I gave it a few chapters and I had to put it down and move onto the next book in my reading list. Maybe I will pick it back up later on in the year.

I did not enjoy this book, the characters are flawed in a way that makes them irritating, and the point of view changes and time hops make it flow terribly. This is a book of feminine rage, which I understand, but do not find profound or moving in any way in this book.

This book details and weaves together the lives of different characters so well. It’s as much a book about life and the different paths it might take you on as it is about feminism and discovering what that means to each individual. I found it deeply touching and thought-provoking.

this book probably shouldn’t have had a happy ending. but everything just seemed to fall into place.
the writing was somewhat convoluted. the author jumped back and forth between present, past, and future without providing much clarity.

Almost DNFd but happy I stuck with it. Basically multiple character studies - Interesting to read but didnt really have a point beside that. Was not a fan of Greer or Faith. A bit long but overall good
