I have to admit that I have high standards when it comes to books about mob, but this was an interesting one. It wasn’t about mob entirely, but somehow it was involved in it. Asher was a dream, mostly because he was so careful when it came to Lucy. I liked how his attitude changed around her. As for Lucy, I liked how she took her time before throwing herself in a relationship with Asher. It was a nice reading, not my favorite but I’m going to keep reading the series for sure! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars for this one.

It was poorly written.  The plot was so sloppy and the characters were all so annoying.

Wonderful

I loved this. Asher and Lucy were wonderful characters and I loved how they grew as individuals and as a couple. I can’t wait to read more.

Wow, this book was amazing. I literally couldnt put it down, no matter how hard i tried. I love the connection the two main characters had and loved how well they were together. I loved the bold and brave Lucy but those moments of her not being able to talk to Asher drove me crazy specially since he kept coming to her and tell her things little by little. Made me want to scream at her.

Asher Black...the name exudes power...and Lucy finds herself in the clutches of this mafia "fixer". After getting herself in a situation with Asher, she has to make a decision. Save her life or become the fake fiance of the famous Asher Black. The story of the Asher and Lucy is a lighter listen to me, and as we get to know the complexity of their characters, it is more of a love story. Having a strong lead female is always a plus, and I found Lucy to be a great character. She never backs down and her amusing banter makes for a fun listen. Asher, the broody alpha, is harder for me to warm up to, but by the end, is likable. There are several themes in this that are interwoven really well, like family not having to be blood, protection of those you love as well as making sure you complete your education. Underlying subjects like these create the great back stories we love to hear about the characters. I do look forward to more of these character driven books(Lucy's bodyguard would be an entertaining one!).

Lacy Laurel always gives a performance worthy of listening to. Her well paced voices are perfect for the setting of this story. She has distinguishable voices for her characters, letting us know who is speaking and makes the story enjoyable.

This book was seriously one of the best books I have read to date. I love Parker's writing style. The quotes at the beginning of every chapter were so beautiful and went along with the chapters. I love how strong Lucy is and how she is such a great heroine. And the way she builds courage every chapter with the help of having Asher by her side.

Asher is great as well. I loved his character so much. How he ends up being everything that Lucy wants in a man. I love that their chemistry wasn't forced. They worked on an exercise together to help them get to know each other which helped them understand each other better, read each other better, respect each other, and have a relationship grow out of that. The most beautiful thing I have read. I seriously thought I was going to hate Asher, but I was definitely wrong.

My favorite part would have to be THAT part where Lucy stands up for him. YOU KNOW THE PART. Seriously, I reread that part like 10x before moving on because it was just so beautiful and I was like YES GIRL! Defend yo man lol

Anyways, beautiful story and I cant wait to start the next book!
