This is the true story about Josh Powell who claims to have taken his 2 sons out for a camping trip the night of his wife's disappearance only to not put any effort into finding her, not cooperate with the police, turn against her family, and starting a whole smear campaign to try and make people believe his wife ran off with another man. What came next was years and years of Susan's family and friends trying to get the truth from him all while knowing he had done something to her.
This story will infuriate you with some of the details, other than the fact that Josh Powell is a evil man, the police and officials in this situation fail not only Susan but her sons so much in this story it's mind blowing. It's so obviously the state's fault that these 2 boys got murdered by their father and that Susan never saw justice or was found. I feel so sorry to Susan's mom and dad who warned officials of their fears that Josh would hurt the boys and who have never gotten answers about what exactly happened the night their daughter went missing or where her body is.
I hate the way the case was handled by authorities but the book was very well written and gave very detailed information even looking at Josh's childhood and how that and his crazy father made him capable of what he did to his wife and 2 sons. (Don't even get me started on her perv father and his obsession with wanting to sleep with Susan even though she was married to his son) That fact that people like this exist is mind blowing.
Also random but if I ever ran into his sister on the street it would be on sight. Whining about her "boys" all being gone after her brother killed himself and his sons, acting like her dad wasn't a proven pervert or her brothers didn't commit multiple murders and it was all just the government and the Mormon church framing them😒. Other than Jennifer that whole family can go to hell.
