3.56 AVERAGE

Out of all of the Hannah Swensen books so far, I've 'enjoyed' this one the most.

The previous book in the series, in my opinion, started off with a lot of interest, focusing in on the impact of a competing bakery on Hannah's business, but where it fell down was a lot of focus on the two "suitors" for Hannah's affections, leaving the 'cliffhanger' being
Spoilera marriage proposal from each man.

I had to know whether my peeve of the series was resolved.

SpoilerIt's not. Facepalm.

I found it, while not refreshing, but in the same ball park, not having the story interwoven with said pet peeve - focusing more on the new characters introduced to the setting by way of a movie production being filmed in Lake Eden. The unfolding of events is fairly standard, with things moving along as you would expect.

SpoilerAlthough, good grief, the 'dance diet', declaring to 'wheel out handsome men to whirl overweight women away as an alternative to eating', what the hell is this bullshit.

2.5 stars, rounding up to 3.... for now. I may reflect on it and come back and change it, who knows.

Solid Hannah Swenson Cozy. A little clunky in parts but nothing out of the ordinary for the series.

The murder didn’t take place until well into the novel. I didn’t enjoy the movie aspect at all. I missed the normal Lake Eden.
