I love the earthsea books! They're fast paced and easy to read, but simultaneously so rich with depth and meaning. This story was mysterious and dark and intriguing. Fantasy is best when it reflects our own world back at us and Le Guin's way of accomplishing this is so unique and marvelous

This is shaping up to be Self-Discovery: The Series and I’m here for it!

Would’ve liked more from Kossil especially towards the end.

However, this is all about Tenar’s journey and it’s told beautifully. Adjusting to a new life is nothing but difficult, all that matters is if you actually choose to do so.

I love how the author didn't intend this to be a series, rather she wrote each book set in this world without a plan for the rest. The world building is wonderfully organic and real. I also love how the main character from the first book isn't the main character here.
