This wasn’t a favorite of mine, but was still pretty good. I’m not sure how it would be accomplished, but I just wanted a little deeper connection to O’jek.

I was really hoping this would dig further into Daisy’s obsession with beauty more than just making it based on how Johani felt about her being perfect.

I kinda hated O’jek’s response to the fruit cave incident. The logic behind his issues with his mother and how he was treating Daisy just didn’t compute for me. I wish more time was spent on his backstory and feelings about his mom. Felt really surface level. Also, I wish he spent more time appreciating she was learning to pitch in and help out in the tribe.

I was really annoyed with Daisy in the first 150 pages and generally didn’t like her as a character, but the second half did a good job restoring her character & making her part of the tribe. I also loved her mate O’Jek. Everyone described him as an asshole, but I genuinely loved him and his personality. There were a few parts of the plot that were meh but it felt very homey with all of the other characters we got to see alongside them.
