This was kinda mid? It’s not bad but it is my least favorite trope in BL. The beginning was VERY confusing but once I realized that this is a spin-off of the single volume Hitorijime Boyfriend, which I haven’t read, I understood. I don’t know if I’ll read that one cause I’ve heard it’s not the best. I unfortunately seized a chance and bought the box set of this so I have the first 6 volumes, so I’m determined to keep an open mind.

a bit confusing and difficult to follow --a few of the characters look very similar so sometimes diifcult to tell who is who. Red flag: teacher student relationship

The characters are really hard to tell apart 90% of the time and certain things can get confusing if you haven't read the other series this spun out of. However, I've had a soft spot for poor Masahiro so I'm sticking with this and rating optimistically.

Honestly, most of the negative reviews for this manga are about the age difference but considering the real “romance” happened so close to the end of the book, my chief complaints weren’t even about that.

This story is confusing. Apparently it’s connected to another series, but that really shouldn’t matter because this book should be able to stand on its own. Especially as a no. 1 in a series. It was confusing. I didn’t remember anyone’s name outside of Setty and the speech bubbles often left me confused as to who was speaking.

The characters were all incredibly immature? Like, sure, they’re supposed to be high school students, but they behaved and spoke in ways that felt more like they were 12 or so? It was very strange for me.

I didn’t feel that there was any real chemistry between the main couple. They seemed to operate within each other’s spaces and that was it. I didn’t get a romance from these two. I was wary at the age gap because of what I read in other reviews but… I hardly even noticed it because of the other issues in this book.

So, not a recommend from me overall. Glad some people really liked it though

Yeah so like...maybe let's not have any more high schoolers dating their teachers? In order to enjoy this story at all, I had to just rewrite the situation between the two characters in my head.

So....i definitely feel like this is missing some stuff or at least should have let the reader know that we should have read the original series first. The beginning feels jumbled and a bit confusing if you haven't already been acquainted with the characters and their backstories. But i'll do the best i can reviewing what i have been given here!
The story is ok. We are given a sexual and romantic relationship between a teacher and a student which is taboo to say the least....not quite sure what to think of this exactly. I'm surprised this got published, but I like bits of it so far. It's got a personality to it that I'm curious about but I'm not quite sure if i want to buy more volumes of this or not yet...
The art is fantastic and the characters seem deep enough that the story could really go places. This is not a real story though, and I often try to seperate fiction from reality, but just beware if you are reading this manga and aren't comfortable with the relationship that is being portrayed here.
