I don't really get Bone. I mean, what are the bones? They're like these doughy-shaped people who live in a world with humans, dragons, rat creatures (who, by the way, don't really look very much like rats), talking possums, giant talking bugs, and some kind of super-evil villain who wears a hood like the Emperor from Star Wars. It's just inexplicably weird.

But it's also high quality fantasy. The characters are well-drawn, the jokes work, the action flows, the world is interesting... Even though I'm perplexed by it, I want to read more. In fat, I can't believe I only bought volume 1. When you finish volume 1, you're going to want to read volume 2 immediately.

Oh how fun. How could you not like this book? There are adorable bone creatures and a tiny leaf bug named Ted and a grandma who races cows. Speaking of which, I am very much looking forward to the next volume so I can see an epic cow race. Are you intrigued yet?

So I got to read this for my last English class in College just for fun and this was definitely a fun little piece to read. It was nice to end off the semester with such a fun and easy read like this. the story is quite interesting and I adore the artwork.

I read this because many of my students enjoy the series. I just found the whole concept stupid and the characters annoying. I know many people would disagree with me, but this series is just not for me.

Cute and fun! Probably won't read anymore though. But like, I'm not the target audience.

Fone Bone and his two cousins have been run out from Boneville after Phoney Bone conducts some bad money schemes. After traveling across the desert into territory no bone has ever been to before, the trio gets separated in a place called the Valley and Fone Bone must use his smarts to survive on his own. He makes some friends along the way but also some horrifying enemies. Will he ever find his cousins?

This was quite a fun read for me. I don't think that I've ever really read and _Bone_ comics before so the experience was all new. I liked the subtle humor here and (much like in my review for _Shazam! Monster Society of Evil_) I liked that the audience could easily consist of many ages. There were, however, some weird moments with Thorn, the girl that Fone Bone falls in love with. She kind of treats him sort of like a pet in that she doesn't consider any kind of romance when thinking about him, but it isn't clear if we as the reader are supposed to hope for a romance or if that's even possible. Not that there's anything wrong with there not being a romance, but she looks rather young to me so it's a little hard to get over. Maybe I'll learn more about it in the later installments. Overall, the humor is what hooked me, so I'll for sure be reading the next ones.
