No Desert Solitaire but pleasant enough to read. Edward Abbey really hates the government/military, doesn't he. Or I guess he did when I was alive.

It's wild to think both how modern and how long ago White Sands was established. I loved reading about why Billy loved New Mexico because I loved it for so many of the same reasons. The majestic openness and all that it contains. A fitting ending to the story as well.
