“The Sound of Glass” is a perfect example of what happens when a Writer focuses entirely too much on character development. In this case, the plot suffered, a lot. This book did not leave an impression on me, I could not relate to any of the characters and the random cliché statements throughout the book had me rolling my eyes.
The plot moved incredibly slow, 50% in and I was wondering if I should give up. I kept wondering where White was going with the storyline because it just wasn’t coming together. When the big reveal did happen, I felt like I was being tricked. That could not have been the explanation/resolve of the plot, but apparently it was.
Overall, this book just did not do it for me.
