Despite not being able to relate to this kind of obsession, it was surprisingly wholesome.

I loved this manga so much and I'm now eagerly awaiting volume two. I think I loved this manga so much in particular because I am a huge nerd about the things that I love. So to read a manga where an adorable couple connects over the fact that they are both nerds about pop idols is such a sweet romance. I also really enjoyed that they initially just started off as buddies who went to shows together and it grew into love, which is very sweet.

ARC was provided by the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I laughed out loud reading shojo manga. It has been a while since that happen...(the fact that I don't read as much manga as before may be part of the reason).
The shojo just has that cute art mixed with the more comedic one that has me every time. Basic of me? Probably, I never said otherwise.

The story goes around these two coworkers who love the same band of idols, which meant instant friendship between them. They would watch their performance together, go to meetings together...They are an idol fan couple.
Akari knows her coworker Onda-san likes her, but not in a romantic way...Right?
Now Akari and Onda-san are more than idol besties. But now it's gonna work that new kind of relationship?

Well, I will tell you how are they gonna experience dating...IN A CUTE AND PURE WAY!
Just a simple funny and cute manga about two introverts otakus being best friends and dating!

A charming manga about fandom and love!

I really love this manga! It’s beautifully illustrated – our characters look so cute! The first volume introduces us to Akari and Onda, who are co-workers and fans of idols. When Onda-san confessed to Akari, they started to navigate a different yet familiar facet to their relationship. After all, they already would go to events together and do activities similar to what couples do on dates.

I love how accurate the manga is with fandom culture, something a fangirl or fanboy can relate wholeheartedly to (like me). The fandom events! Fanmeet! Collecting idol merchandise! 100% fandom thing! And I love our main characters, they are both adorable, and it’s fun to read about characters that genuinely enjoy fandom with enthusiasm. I adore how supportive they are of each other’s interests, which shows in each chapter of this volume.

I’m looking forward to reading more of their story. Thank you, NetGalley and Kodansha, for the e-ARC.

This is a VERY promising start to a new series, and I hope it stays on the fluffy cute side. The MCs are both adults so it could drift to the spicy side (but I hope it doesn't)

I think the two MCs are absolutely adorable, and even though I think they take it to the extreme at times, I can appreciate the level of fangirling that goes on (I mean, who doesn't fan girl/boy at some point in their life?)

I can't wait to read volume 2 to see how their relationship and the story progresses.

Thank you to Kodansha and Netgalley for the digital ARC!

Having an Idol-Loving Boyfriend is the best! is a hilarious showing of the idol supporters lifestyle with a romance that’s both beautifully adorable and hilarious. Many Thanks to Kodansha and NetGalley for an advanced electronic copy in exchange for an honest review

Synopsis
Akari Tachibana and her grumpy co-worker Onda-San are more than just friends- they are both huge idol fans. Close to hard-core with their obsession and supporting each other, Onda-san completely out of the blue confesses his feelings to Akari leaving her stunned.

Having a similar obsession is great- and a boyfriend who’s also into it? Amazing. Will their relationship be able to navigate this new dimension while they both continue their individual idol obsessions.

Review:
Plot and world building- I’m a massive fan of idol culture- I find it intriguing and I do have some idols I follow religiously- so to say I could really see myself in both of the lead characters is an understatement. It’s one of the main reasons I requested this manga. It was really hilarious and well plotted.

The art style is beautifully sharp and very clean for the story, generally it was beautifully designed throughout. The plot was fast paced and hilarious to the point I had to stop reading to catch my breath. Some of the turbulent sections of the manga where some decisions had to be made about, for example, boyfriend over idol events? I was sat asking myself what I would do because with this kind of idol fandom it is genuinely a huge deal to fans so this was adorable in the representation.

Also- a massive appreciation for a male that is into the idol culture for a male idol. Yes! We need more of this! It’s always leaning towards girls when it comes to idol culture so to see this representation was absolutely ground-breaking to me and I loved every second.

Characters and Plot
All the characters within the story were well developed and I loved the grumpy sunshine elements of Onda-san and his genuine nervousness when it came to Akari and their relationship.

Akari’s outgoing nature was beautiful and her relationship with Onda-San where they can both support each other and their idol obsessions was genuinely delightful, humorous and refreshing.

Their relationship started off so sweet and I am honestly so excited to see where they go with it, and how their respective lives as idol fans could interfere with this more.

Final Verdict:
A Hilarious, romantic comedy about the true struggles of being in an idol fandom which has me eagerly awaiting volume 2.
