So fucking boring and an incredibly unlikable main character. Finishing this book was painful

I had fun reading this book and I like how Kaylee really begins to find herself at the end.

This was cute but I kept wanting more. I really liked how Kaylee had to deal with the idea of perfection and living up to her mom. Watching her character growth was the best part of the book. Stringing along Dean I could have done without. Almost felt like he was an after thought.

Jan 2024: DNF @ 7%. I should have looked at the summary. I thought it was an adult book turns out it's YA and not what I was in the mood for.

Many thanks to @prhaudio for a complimentary audiobook copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This was a fun and different YA summer romance that sees two former best friends and recent exes forced to spend their vacation together with their families before both go off to university in the fall. The authors really are the masters of the second chance slow burns and this one was no different but I really enjoyed that beach volleyball player Kaylee Jordan has to try to help Dean get over her since he never really understood why she broke up with him.

Perfect for fans of The summer I turned pretty (without the brother love triangle) and good on audio narrated by Phoebe Strole. This cover is gorgeous too and I enjoyed everything about this one a whole lot!

DNF. I thought this was one of their adult books and I think it would have been better as an adult book but the friends to lovers then exs then enemies to lovers was just too childish to me on top of it actually being YA. No rating bc i'm sure this is actually good just not my jam. Still love their writing.
