I feared this was going to be like It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey. It did have the same premise of Grumpy x Sunshine characters, someone leaving their ritz lifestyle for the small town life, but I actually loved Naomi! Such a real life character and sarcastic and relatable!
Waylay is such a good character and I love how Lucy Score was able to get into the mind of an 11 year old! Sassy and fierce! Knox was slowly rubbing me the wrong way, playing hard to get, but once he finally got laid, then he was more realistic and enjoyable.
Idk how I read this in 3 days—it swallowed me up. I could see why the piss in the woods scene was weird but it didn’t strike me as nasty or odd. At least it wasn’t a shit in the woods or in front of people.

I rarely like an audiobook but I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book. A good romance for those that have ever had a thing for bad boys.
This book was fun. I loved the banter between characters and there were parts where I was laughing out loud because I found this so funny. The book is pretty long, but it was worth every page. It didn’t feel slow to me at all. My one warning is there was a Loootttt Of spice I had to skip. Overall, this book was fun though
In all honesty when I picked up this book, I thought I can describe it with just a few words. But as I went through reading the book, I realize that this book is not your average comfort read, which is like a small town romance and, found family, and all the jazz, but it is more complex than that.
The issues that characters deal with so well written and put so much things into perspective. Initially , you find it very annoying given the circumstances, but as you go through reading the entire book (this did mild reading slump) you understand why these characters act like they act or do what they do and it is completely justified.
I must say I felt Knox as a character was a bit too aggressive, but I loved Naomi because she was strong and she managed to step up to the challenge of having to suddenly raise her 11 going on 30 niece.
I love the side characters. I love how they are constantly mentioned, and how much of an impact they have on Naomi and how much they support her.
I’m already addicted to this series. I know that for a fact, for I am currently 40% into the second book and ordered my copy of the third book. This really is a comfort series which is not all shallow and is well written.I am genuinely surprised that my random pic off the bookshelf managed to catch me off guard.
