Sam is a thief, one of the best. However, she didn't expect to save billionaire Richard Addison's life when she went to steal his Trojan stone tablet. The question is can she trust him to help her to clear her of murder, and can they find out who set the bomb? Plus, there is all the attraction...

Fun fluff.

It's good for a cute flirty romance with a murder plot thrown in. I'm a sucker for antiques and people who appreciate them.

This book was fun. The author's note at the end, however, saying that the super wealthy hero is partially based on Donald Trump just goes to show how very long ago this was written. I'm trying not to hold that tidbit against the character, but I gotta say it still made a dent in my opinion of him. It's not the author's fault that no-one was aware of what an abomination Trump was back then, but even in 2005 we all knew he was 75% slime ball. I'm assuming the inspiration was that Trump was rich (although there should probably always be an asterisk next to any of Trump's claims of wealth), famous and lived in Palm Beach and not that he was a serial cheater who bankrupted most of his businesses and was attracted to his young daughter. The other two inspirations for him, Cary Grant and Hugh Jackman are much more fitting.

Anyway, Trump grossness aside, the plot is fun, though the villain is not the hardest to figure out. Still I enjoyed spending time with Samantha and Rick and will read another installment.

This was a fun first romantic suspense from an author who previously wrote Regency romances. I enjoyed it quite a bit.... until I listened to the author's note at the end. She talked about the character of Rick - a mixture of Hugh Jackman (yes!), a few others, and Donald Trump. ?!?!?!?! Sorry, Suzanne Enoch, I'm not sure I can read the rest of the series without scrubbing that out of my brain. And yeah, the book (and note) is 18 years old. But, still.

Oh, and the audiobook cover is awful. The heroine is neither pouty nor blonde.

I applaud the author. Awesome beginnning of the series. I loved the way the relationship evolved. Four and a half stars :)

Overall enjoyed this read. Seemed to drag a bit in the middle but otherwise I liked the storyline and the characters

It's been quite too long since I've enjoyed a completely new book, and I can't believe I've never heard of this until yesterday. I've been in a bit of slump for a while now, rereading old favorites just to satisfy my need to read something, so this has truly been such a treat. What a great way to kick off 2018!
