Sweet, but the villain was too one-dimensional for my taste (like, I'm still unclear on the exact motives here - just... power? For what?). The Nanas were my favorite. I also liked how I would be all "ugh this is gonna turn into a love triangle" or "here comes the parental figure telling the kid not to do the dangerous thing, so they have to go off on an adventure alone" and then the book would immediately contradict my suspicion and go do its own thing.

Enjoyable and cute! I appreciated the representation and the story was interesting.

Honestly, the art on the cover and in the back WIP previews was significantly better than what the actual book contained. Some of the weird anatomy really threw me off.
