4.6/5 stars okay this book was actually so good, it took me a minute to get into because i haven’t read fantasy in a hot minute. but i actually really liked the plot and i’m not even a plot person. i loved elias and how you could really see that battle he phases with his morals. there was so much build up for elias and laias relationship i can’t wait to see it develop more in the other books. also helens character is really complex and i hope we get a pov of hers in the next books

The best part of this book is the villain. Every time she was in a scene, I got chills. We need more villains like this; bold, cruel, chaotic and just plain evil. They should genuinely give the reader the same fear that the characters feel.
