Man. I really love this series and I don't want to read the last book cause then it's over :(. Anyways, let me wipe my tears. Ms. Cherry knows how to write a story that just pulls at all your heart strings, it's so refreshing. I really liked this book. It did not hit me the same as the 1st book but nonetheless it still hit me. First off, CONNOR MOTHERFUCKING ETHAN. I mean cmon, if every Southern boy was like this when I was growing up in the South I can 100% guarantee I would've had about 10 southern babies running around. He was sooooooo amazing, just all around perfect. I mean shit he was like what I wish every man would be. His story is beautiful, his love is beautiful, he is beautiful.
Now don't get me wrong, I think Aaliyahs character was good. Her character arc was great and im so glad she finally realized what she needed in life. But I'm not gonna lie, I didn't really connect with her as much as I would've liked. Idk what it was but after a while I was getting annoyed with her. Like yes all her feelings were valid but I was sitting here like girl this man is one in a trillion, if u don't shut yo ass up and be with him. But I guess that was part of her arc, realizing she deserved love.
Overall this book did what it needed. Like I said I don't think it was better than the 1st but it still hit for me and I was a blubbering mess in the epilogue. Like cmon the guys name was Grant??? Ugh wtf. I was doing so good and then I get hit with that. I'm super excited for Damiens story!!
