One word: Connor. I love him. He is the hero of this story and bot do we all need a Connor in our lives. If you read Southern Storms, then you met Connor already and probably thought he was so uncontrollably loveable. He is so goofy and truly a sunshine character.
This book has second chance romance vibes since Connor and Aaliyah cross paths twice in their lives. The first night was on Halloween. He is Captain and she is Red, and they spend one blissful night together until the sun rises. Fast forward to 2 years later… they meet again.
Connor has lent years building his business and is now one of NYC’s most eligible bachelors. Aaliyah is working her dream job in publishing. There are some hiccups when these two reunite however. She is set to marry someone else.
This book truly tugs on your heart strings and is so emotional Beautiful in every way. It was heart- wrenching at times and so keep the tissues handy!
Connor is an extraordinary hero. He is an amazing friend, he has the biggest heart, and the sweetest cinnamon roll around. Aaliyah had a challenging life but you see her grow so much throughout this book.
A wonderful five star read !!! I binged this book so hard and I don’t think I’ll ever forget how it made me feel. Brittany Cherry is a goddess and a queen of her craft! She writes so majestically ! Literally in awe!

Boring
I’m sorry to say this book was so boring. I feel like it took weeks to read. I was going to give it a one star but the last 10-20% of the book picked up. #1 I just didn’t like Aaliyah. She was weak and pathetic. There was just something about her character I couldn’t like. I liked Conner. He was a proud Mama’s boy. He was sweet and kind. #2 I just didn’t feel their romance. I didn’t feel a connection. The book just dragged on and on. I just was bored throughout the entire read.

Look, I don’t know what I can say about Brittainy Cherry that hasn’t been said about her before. I’m an avid fan, an auto buy fan, and a forever fan. Periodtttt.
The most important thing about this novel that I enjoyed the most was the fact that it was so character driven. She provided us with the best character interactions, dialogue, and complexities that I have seen in a long time. Not only that, but her secondary characters never cease to amaze me. To know that you can still read a book and envision the people you are reading about– makes me so happy.
Yet again, Brittainy has wrote another original story line that keeps us turning those pages and falling in love every time we do. I can’t ever ask for a better romance book when it comes to Brittainy Cherry. She delivers each and every time.

Okay, 70% of the book was to meeeeh for me, but the last 30% made it up!!
Having dealt with transplants/emergency surgeries and all that, it hit me hard, but let me say this!
CONNOR IS WAYYY TOO GOOD! I mean, we are all fucked up and have to have backbone somewhere!! It felt like A had more courage, balls and backbone than he did.
I still loved him, but I felt he deserved more. He felt too happy, to nice... ITS 2021!! NO ONE is that nice
That being said: 3.5 ⭐️!!
