took me forever but so glad i stuck out. beautiful glimpse into patti smith’s youth, relationships, and time in nyc. she has such a gift of making you feel like youre right there w her in her writing; as if you’re a fly on the wall watching her life unfold in real time. robert and patti u will always be famous !!

a really really beautiful story of love, friendship and lifelong companionship and finding yourself and staying true to yourself. it was hard for me to get through as i’m used to much faster paced fictional stories but regardless it was worth the read.

I have mixed feelings about this. I loved that it showed me what the art scene was like in the early 1970s, working with other artists, living at the Chelsea hotel and so on. I got to know a little bit about all these artists that I didn't honestly know. I loved learning about Robert. I just wanted to know more about their relationship perhaps. Sometimes it felt like there was something missing maybe I'm not really sure. I need to think about this more
