Ms. Meader is the go to author for sexy. Her characters are an irresistible combination of sweet and salty with a pinch of humor thrown in for good measure. Irresistible You is more than a hot tamale read. It tackles real issues. Issues like sexism, self - doubt, pride and second chances. Harper and Chase are the spark of this heated ensemble. Both are desperately trying to prove their worth in a sport that's already written them off. For Remy, hockey is a way of life. His world is the sport that made him a star, but age and reputation precede him and have landed him in a less than stellar position. Harper, is a woman making her way in a man's world. Faced with a failing team, family upheaval and a shocking betrayal she sets out to make her mark. What's a girl to do when faced with a frustrating, egotistical, sexy man? Fall in love, of course. Breaking the ice takes on a whole new meaning.

A feel-good, series starter hockey romance that is a simple, quick read with a too-good-to-be-true hero and an interesting heroine with a good set-up for future books.
Harper and her two estranged half-sisters inherit their late father's underperforming NHL hockey team with the proviso that the Rebels must make the playoffs or the team will be taken from them and sold.
Harper lives and breathes hockey, but has been relegated to her ruthless father's shadow for years. Now under misogynistic media scrutiny, despite her years of experience, she decides to import a talented veteran player from another team to drag the Rebels up the ranks and bring cohesion and enthusiasm to her disheartened line-up.
Remy is 34, ready to retire, and preparing to give his all with his teammates in a final push for his first-ever Stanley Cup win. He's been close before but was always denied in the finals. Understandably, he is not at all happy about his last-minute trade to the Rebels who are only in the race for the wooden spoon.
Remy and Harper have great chemistry from the jump and Remy's Cajun charm is palpable as you read. I enjoyed this and will continue to read Harper's two sister's stories.

3.5 stars. This was a pretty good book. This is Remy and Harper's story. Harper's father owned and ran an NFL Hockey team, the Chicago Rebels. When he died, he left the team to all three of his daughters. Harper, who had been working as his right hand, was upset that she had to share control of the team. She and her sisters all had Daddy issues and also issues with each other because of his unequal treatment of them. The team has been performing horribly the past few seasons and Harper is determined to bring it around. She trades for Remy to join their team in hopes he can unite them for a playoff berth. But Remy is not happy about the trade. He wanted to finish the final season in his career in Boston and keep up the momentum he had going their with a run for the Stanley Cup. Sparks fly between them when Remy refuses to even try to play well on his new team. He blackmails Harper into promising she will trade him in the middle of the season back to Boston for him to actually start playing to his potential in the meantime. Harper reluctantly agrees. The team actually does start to come together and improve with Remy on their side. And Remy and Harper's sparks soon turn to a sizzle as they spend more time together. But Harper is reluctant to be with Remy because of the fact that she owns the team, not to mention that he will be leaving in a few months. Still, they can't stay apart and they fall for each other. Will they be able to make it work between them so they can have the happy ever after they deserve?
Overall, this was a good romance. I loved the raging Cajun that was Remy. He was so so charming, laid back and smooth. He waited to find a girlfriend or get romantically involved because he wanted to be able to retire from hockey in one more year, get married and be a stay at home dad. Swoon! Harper was a little bit harder for me to like. She was a bit of a ball buster. She also had some secrets from her past that kept her from wanting to get close to any men. I understood why she was the way she was and I did feel bad for her, but her actions definitely annoyed me. I did appreciate her few moments of vulnerability but I needed more. Remy was a little frustrating at times too in that he let Harper determine their relationship. I wanted him to be more aggressive in pursuing her and persuading her to be with him. I also wanted more resolution in the end, more firm plans for the future and a longer epilogue. Also, the third person POV is not my favorite. Still, I did enjoy this book. There were some very sweet and sexy parts. The writing was excellent and the story was interesting and unique. I am definitely looking forward to continuing the series with Harper's sisters books coming in the future.

The first full title in the Chicago Rebels series did not disappoint. Kate Meader has another hit series on her hand. What happens when an absentee and hard to please father dies leaving his hockey team to his three daughters? Chaos ensues! Harper is the oldest of the siblings and the most closed off in a bubble of her own making. She thinks maintaining her personal and professional distance from others keeps her in control (and safe). What she doesn't count on is having her world shaken up when Remy becomes the Rebels newest acquisition. Whether Remy can melt the control of the ice queen remains to be seen. He's head over skates for Harper, but she's not going to be an easy conquest.
I highly recommend this new series and can't wait to read the next installment.

I'll always have a great time reading Kate Meader. Irresistible You was no exception. It was super fun, deliciously swoony and sexy, a little bit angsty and a lot heartfelt.
After a lifetime of trying to prove herself to her father and miserably failing in his eyes, it seems as though even in death her father is trying to frustrate her. Harper Chase has now co-inherited his nose-diving hockey team together with her two alienated half-sisters. But nothing will stop her for achieving her lifelong dream of heading a successful NHL franchise, not the fact that she’s a woman in a man’s world, not the fact that she barely knows her sisters who aren’t one hundred percent on board and certainly not her recently acquired, too gorgeous for his own good and way off-limits player who doesn’t want to be on her team.
Thought of as the unluckiest player in the NHL, Remy DuPre, still had a chance to finish his pro-hockey career proudly lifting the Stanley Cup until he was traded to the losing Chicago Rebels. He’ll use every weapon in his arsenal, including charm and manipulation, to get what he wants. But trying to break through the walls of his stubborn boss in sexy heels is turning out to be more stimulating and fun than he originally anticipated. Can they find a way for both of them to win?
The atmosphere intensifies as soon as these two lock eyes with one another and all the fun begins. The push and pull between Remy and Harper is delightfully addicting as both have dominant personalities, both are set in what they want and both will do just about anything to achieve their goals. I rooted for them wholeheartedly. Inevitably, their seemingly different career paths push them apart, but it’s really Harper who needs to work through her issues to see what Remy already knew, that their heart and souls are a perfect match and they can work through everything else together.
There are many other things about this Irresistible book to enjoy like Remy’s loveable family and his adorable penchant for doing read-a-longs with his nieces no matter the book—Pride and Prejudice—, the building relationship between Harper’s sisters who all unequivocally have daddy issues—I expect this relationship to continue developing throughout the series—, the return of Addison and Ford from In Skates Trouble, and the incredible Gretzky… the farting dog.
But what pulls you in and keeps you turning page after page is the reluctant yet undeniable attraction between Remy and Harper. Remy’s magnetism and blatant virility alone is enough to leap from every page, but when all that yummy sexy, swoony, alpha maleness is single-mindedly directed towards Harper, I just about melted along with my eReader.
Irresistible You kick off book in the Chicago Rebels series by Kate Meader. It is a standalone, hockey full of deliciously swoony, sexy, and sweet moments. Told from both points of view, with a happy ending.

"You feel that, Harper?... I think we're havin' a thing."
They were. Oh, God they were. "Why are you still here again?"
His mouth curved. "Lady, I got the distinct feelin' these next few months are gonna be fun."

"... you need to be spoiled every now and then to remind you that you deserve the best."

Every job, he wanted to say. He'd feed her mind, her body, and show her the meaning of worship.

"He was in. Inside her head, inside her body, and inching closer to that heart she kept wrapped in barbed wire and pinned with a No Trespassing sign. He intended to trespass. He would invade those border and plant his f*cking flag."
