A beautifully written and realistic story of love, life, and friendships (and their complications) after loss.  I love the representation of POC’s in this book, though it didn’t seem to be a focus. When I say it’s beautifully written, I truly mean it. The  imagery that Kennedy Ryan is able to incorporate, invoked emotions to life events that I have never even come close to. I will definitely be reading more of her works.

I’ve never rooted against a couple this hard in my life. Josiah is a plague and does not deserve Yasmen in any universe. He really put on a manipulation and emotional abuse masterclass. I straight up did not have a good time.

Over all an ok book. Ryan is a good writer but I felt this book mostly focused on Yaz & Josiah's physical attraction to one another rather than their emotional connection. It also took over half the book to get to the second chance! Move it along please!
