"So lovely. Miss his updates. I wish there was a bit more of the depth of the hard times, but this was sweet and funny in all the right ways." — 0 minutes ago

A sweet, light read. I picked it up as someone who was familiar with Leslie from watching Will & Grace with my mom as a kid, but hadn't seen much of him beyond that. I was interested in reading about his experience growing up gay in the 60s and 70s, and there were lots of stories there. It was not nearly as affecting as other memoirs I've read because the tone is kept so light. Serious topics are definitely touched upon but this could have easily been a very different reading experience, one where there would have been more feeling and more to take from his experiences. However, it was an enjoyable read and felt true to Leslie as we know him.

Truth, I haven’t watched any of the tv shows Leslie Jordan has been on. I am an Instagram follow. I heard he was a light during covid-19, and I reached for the light. He is funny & raucous. But, what a story. Nicely done.

Leslie Jordan is a hoot. If you have the chance check out the audio version of this book, he narrates it and illustrates this book as expected!  While I didn't love it as much as "...down the pink carpet", I loved this book! He's so funny and his stories meander down a wavy path to hilarious extend.  #audiobook

3.5. Some really good stories, but I did find I zoned out for other ones.
