Type of read: Commuter Read.
What made me pick it up: I found 'A Lie Someone Told You About Yourself' when I was looking for books to fulfill the May TN R.E.A.D.S challenge. This book doesn't meet any of this month's challenge prompts, but it caught my eye so of course it had to be added to the TBR.
Overall rating: Raw, beautiful, painful, honest, 'A Lie Someone Told You About Yourself' is one of my favorite books I've read so far this year. Ho Davies writing is the kind that just gets right into your soul. I found 'A Lie Someone Told You About Yourself' as I was looking for a book to complete the May TN R.E.A.D.S challenge and I'm so happy I did. I don't think I would have stumbled across this book on my own and it's truly one of those reads that just sucked me in and spit me back out. I would absolutely recommend it.
Reader's Note: 'A Lie Someone Told You about Yourself' includes themes of abortion, death, and sex.

I thought this was a thought provoking book and internal monologue of marriage, children post-abortion, fatherhood and more.

Davies articulates complicated feelings so well. The anger, frustration, shame; how we go through and get through it all. He cuts to the core.
Moderate: Miscarriage, Grief, Medical trauma, Pregnancy, Abortion, and Child death

I devoured this. This is such a tender read, with rawness, dark humor, and vulnerability throughout.
