This book was just ok for me, somewhat predictable, a group of people with secret and an evil man who is threatening them all. Someone kills him and we find out right at the end who did it. The characters didn't feel like real people to me, there was no one I really cared about
It Could Be Anyone had major “Guest List” vibes by Lucy Foley which is always a good thing. At first I thought the story was a little cheesy, it’s been done before. But once the secrets started being revealed all I could think of was how twisted they were! Hendricks really didn’t stop at your typical whodunnit, she went all the way. The story was fast paced, and I needed to find out who the killer was. Of course, the hints were there all along. Can’t believe I didn’t figure it out! A fun read.
I both liked parts of this book and disliked parts of this book at the same time. It Could Be Anyone moves quickly and is dialogue driven. I never figured out what really happened to Trevor until it was revealed at the end. That makes a thriller/mystery book good. However, I struggled a bit with the style of writing by this author. The writing felt very juvenile to me at times, and it felt like that author was trying too hard to connect with a younger reader. For instance, there was a non-conversational sentence, “The internal struggle was real.” I understand wanted to connect with a younger audience, but don’t forget the older audience that loves these types of books as well. I’m also not sure that some of the events in the book made sense, like the circumstances of the brunch that occurred right before he proposed. It just didn’t sit right with me.
For these reasons, I can give this book a solid 3 stars. I think any mystery lover will enjoy this book, even if it wasn’t as suspenseful as I would have like it to be.

I enjoyed this fast paced thriller. I devoured this in one day. The chapters were short and changed POVs every time. I was satisfied with the reveal of the book.
My biggest eh with the book was Emma. Her secret was the worst IMO. She was an absolute garbage of a person.

This book was unique and exciting. I don’t think there’s any other book that could switch characters like that without me getting confused. Each character was so well developed that I had no problem keeping them straight. I enjoyed the story and the unexpected ending. It kept me guessing until the last page!
Jaime Lynn Hendricks, you did it again! It Could Be Anyone absolutely knocked it out of the park! This book is filled with twists and turns that I certainly did not expect. I devoured this book in just two days. This book kept me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out "whodunnit". It's so well written and I had a lot of fun guessing (and I was wrong!).

While the book is fairly fast paced, it’s a strangely unrealistic murder-mystery that tries to have some anchors in realism. Story wasn’t exactly believable, though the characters were more well written I suppose. Interesting enough for a before bed read.
