I loved it, I went through so many emotions mostly settling between laughing at the witty banter between character and gasping. There were some sad and tense moments. If you are into healthy romance relationships, move along because this relationship is full of trauma bonding and toxic behavior. I cried on the last chapter, like bawled, that is just how beautiful I found it. The MCs were great, the depth of their backstory the trauma and healing 10/10.
Layla, I empathized with dislike of people and the use of dark humor as a shield. I cannot even begin to wrap my head around her trauma.
Lachlan - That obsessive toxic boy, Mr hockey ⭐ that had a lot of daddy issues and some serious commitment issues, he was either into it or not at all.
How they initially get together was actually cute and the witty banter was great Iaughed often at their back and forth. Towards the second part of the book I was unsure, NGL. The authors mentioned that Lach is obsessive in the TW/CW, he had some signs in the first part of the book, yet I was not prepared to how intense he was going to be.
I also want to highlight the supportive platonic relationships in this book, because they were superb. Marissa and Prescott 🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽
