This one was a page turner! I’ll admit that I got a little confused in the beginning because there are a lot of characters to keep track of. But once I got them all sorted I was taken for a wild ride with this one! Honestly, the twists and secrets just keep coming right up until the very end and there’s no way you’ll see them all coming. Definitely a good suspense read for the fall season!

Thank you #netgalley and #amazonpublishing for this ADC in exchange for an honest review!

4.5 stars. I would like to see more of Jane Munro and the team she worked with...maybe a sequel? Though this type of storyline is not new, I enjoyed the forensics and the psychology in this one. It didn't grab me right away, but it kept me interested once I understood all the players.

overall, i really enjoyed it! the story unfolded at a steady pace, and so it was actually easy to get immersed in the story without getting bored with one or two very high-action scenes thrown in. i have to say there were juet too many characters. and although the ending was unexpected, it was so in the grossest way possible, especially with
Spoilerthe mother staying an apologist for her incestuous, abusive, and rapist husband, saying that, oh, but he really loved her!! bruh. i'm glad that jane was judging her because i personally wanted to throw up

Struggling with her own life altering event, Jane Munro takes on a “cold case” dating back to the 70s. A body is discovered under the a chapel in the area belong to a ski resort. Jane must race against time to try and figure out who the body belonged to and how it got there. Throughout the process of the investigation, multiple characters get introduced. I will say I’m always about a dual POV in books but this book had 6+ POVs. After a while, it got hard to follow and try to piece everything together. As details get introduced, it’s easy to start making speculations about who the killer is. For a moment, I thought it was going to turn into a Pretty Little Liars thing but the twist as to who the killer was worse than that. Never would have guessed. Where the murder and details were solved, there was still a lot of details that were introduced that never get spoken about again. There was no closure. The story just kind of abruptly stopped. Still an overall good book.

This deserves all the stars, from the moment I started reading I knew this book was for me! I love mysteries that surround cold cases and this was perfect.
