I honestly loved it. it is incredibly slow but I couldn't stop reading. the story gets you hooked from the beginning. there were several povs, and I rarely find that well executed in a book, but in this case it gave so much depth and background to the story. never getting confusing.
I hated almost every single character, but I think that was the intention. it shows how heartless, self-centered and selfish people can be
I saw coming one of the plot twists, but the last one took me by surprise. I think what loved most about it was how believable everything was? I mean, authors can get pretty outlandish with the plot twists, and it makes everything seem forced. in this case, the author did and amazing job.
I'll be reading more of her work for sure

DNF at 50%. Too many character POVs and it was just so so boring. Every time I would actually think to myself it’s getting better, the chapter would change to a new character’s POV and I’d lose interest again. No thanks.

When human remains are discovered buried under an old church, nobody is sure what has been uncovered. They can tell it’s a female and offer a rough idea of her age when she died. The only clue as to her identity comes from the objects discovered with her and the platform boots discovered on her body. Someone knows more than they’re telling.
The detective assigned to the case soon learns that this could be the body of a teenager missing for nearly fifty years. However, nobody wants to talk. It is up to our detective and the team working with her to uncover the truth offered by the remains - what are deemed the unquiet bones, as they are about to reveal their secrets.
What we learn, alongside the details from the detective’s view, is that the dead girls’ friends all know more than they let on at the time of her disappearance. When a second body - that of the boy many believed was linked to her disappearance - is discovered, we start to piece together the events of the night in question.
We get our answers by the end of the book, and they are not at all what we are led to believe. A messy story, but more for the content than the way the author chooses to reveal details to us. By the end I was rather stunned by just how many lives were needlessly affected by the events described.

OMG WHAT DID I JUST READ?!?!
This thriller was so gripping!! I loved how masterfully crafted this story was as you really had no idea what the last half would bring. I loved the slight touches of social commentary surrounding true crime and the crimes that people have been led to commit. Those plot twists really got me!! And the ending wrapped everything up so well. The forensic evidence added so much as well to the story! I loved these elements that made it feel that much more real.
Granted there were some questions left unanswered but i felt this was done purposefully.
